Hagenauer Werkstatte...wHw

As far as sophisticated colletors of art go, Hagenauer connoisseurs are without peer. Whimsical, highly stylized objects, these sculptural icons fit into any moderne deco. Hagenauer designs have stood the test of time.

A personal favorite in my own collecting interest, the Hagenauer workshops were founded in Vienna in 1898 by Carl Hagenauer (1872-1928) and following his death, managed by his son Karl (1898-1956). Sculptures produced by Hagenauer atelier were often retailed through department stores and were occasionally commissioned by the Wiener Werkstatte (Vienna Workshops). Hagenauer employed a wide variety of materials in the fashioning of their pieces, including chromed metal, wood, silver, nickel, brass and painted bronze. Generally done in a whimsical style. Original pieces are highly sought by collectors throughout the world.

Wow Designs a subsidiary of Moderneage has created a limited edition line of its own shown here are the Wall Masks, Boxers and Weightlifter created in the exact same sizes as the originals in chrome plated nickel.

In addition to Wow Designs sculptures, Moderneage has a working relationship with the last master craftsman working with the Hagenauer company. In principal the sculptures are all hand produced and carry with it the exact same quality as their predecessors. In theory they are identical but won't carry the Hagenauer touchmark. These sculptures will truly become heirlooms in their own right and are sure to be treasured icons in their own right. Custom designs available upon request. Please email with questions.
